3-Ingredient Protein Bagels That Actually Taste Like Bagels

Ingredients (makes 4 bagels)

  • 1 cup (120g) PEScience Select Unflavoured Multi-Purpose Protein Baking Powder
  • 1 cup (250g) plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg white (for egg wash)
  • Toppings: everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or coarse salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the PEScience Baking Powder and Greek yogurt. Mix with a spatula until a shaggy dough forms, then use your hands to knead it together for about 1 minute until smooth. The dough should be slightly sticky but workable.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions.
  4. Roll each portion into a ball, then poke a hole through the centre with your thumb. Stretch gently to form a bagel shape with a hole about 2 inches wide (it will shrink during baking).
  5. Place bagels on the prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with egg white and sprinkle with your chosen toppings.
  6. Bake for 22-25 minutes until golden brown on top and firm to the touch.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Toast for best results.
