Who is a Barebells protein bar for, and what does it pair well with?
Built for post-workout recovery (20g protein, calories vary by flavour — see the nutrition facts panel image above), busy mornings when you'd skip breakfast, a healthy dessert swap for chocolate bars or candy, kids who want a treat without the sugar crash (~1g sugar), students cramming, and anyone managing weight on a high-protein plan. Diabetic-friendly macros (sucralose + stevia, ~1g sugar) — always check with your doctor if you're tracking insulin. Not strict keto (uses maltitol + fibre carbs) — for clean keto try Built Bar Puffs or ChocZero. Pairs well with: FREESNACK promo (buy 5 + get 1 free), Quest Crispy Chips for a salty-sweet combo, a GHOST or Alani energy drink as a pre-workout duo, or a protein shake post-lift.
What does a Barebells bar taste like? Texture?
Chewy nougat-style with a real chocolate coating — closer to a Snickers, Twix, or Mars bar than a chalky protein bar. Centre changes by flavour (caramel + peanuts in Salty Peanut, cookie pieces in Cookies & Cream, hazelnut crunch in Hazelnut Nougat, etc.). Insider tip: microwave the bar 10–15 seconds for a softer, gooey texture (especially in winter) — lots of our customers do this. Summer note: bars may soften or change shape during warm-weather transit. Still safe and tasty — refrigerate flat on a plate for 1–2 hours and they regain shape. Per our shipping policy, melted-shape bars aren't covered under default returns but ARE covered under Onward Checkout+.
Protein, calories, and net carbs — what are the macros?
A 55g Barebells Original bar = 20g protein, 0–1g sugar, no added sugar. Calories vary by flavour — see the nutrition label image above for the exact calories of the flavour you're choosing. Net carbs = Total Carbs − Fibre − Sugar Alcohols. For example: Cookies & Cream has 17g total carbs − 3g fibre − 5g maltitol = ~9g net carbs. Sweetened with maltitol (sugar alcohol) + sucralose. The SOFT line is 16g protein with slightly different macros. For exact macros per flavour, see the nutrition facts panel images above; the full written ingredient list is in the product description above this FAQ. Macros fit most weight-loss, high-protein, post-workout, and low-net-carb eating plans.
Allergens, gluten-free, vegan, halal — diet compatibility?
Barebells Original bars contain Milk and Soy, and are made in a facility that also processes Peanuts, Sesame, Tree Nuts, Wheat / Gluten, and Eggs — so they are NOT certified gluten-free and not safe for celiac or severe allergies. The SOFT line contains wheat directly. Vegetarian (contain milk protein) but not vegan — Barebells makes a separate Vegan line (search "Barebells Vegan" on our store). Most Barebells flavours are halal-certified (some exceptions for newer and US-produced flavours — check the wrapper if halal certification is important to you). Excessive consumption of maltitol (sugar alcohol sweetener) may cause a laxative effect in sensitive people. The full written ingredient list and allergen statement per flavour is in the product description above this FAQ, and every flavour's label is photographed in the product images above — always double-check before ordering.
How fast is shipping in Canada and what does it cost?
Same-day shipping from our Montreal store if you order before 4 PM EST Monday–Friday — hand-packed by our team at our downtown location, often faster than Amazon. Free shipping over $125 CAD subtotal. $12 flat over $50. Delivery: Quebec & Ontario typically 1–3 business days, other provinces 3–7. Express options at checkout. Domestic Canadian shipping — NO duties or customs fees. We're at 3575 Av. du Parc inside Galeries du Parc, downtown Montreal.
Can I pick up in-store? Where are you and is there parking?
Yes — free store pickup, ready in 30 minutes during store hours. We're at 3575 Av. du Parc, Local 5635 inside Galeries du Parc underground mall, downtown Montreal. Our online inventory is the same as our in-store inventory — if it's in stock on the website, it's also available in-store, since every order ships directly from the same physical store. Tell us at the cash and we'll give you a free 1-hour validated parking voucher — drop it in the parking machine on your way out for free indoor mall parking. Store hours: Mon 11 AM–8 PM, Tue–Fri 11 AM–6 PM, Sat–Sun 11 AM–5 PM.
What's your return policy + the Onward 90-day guarantee?
Default: free 30-day return policy — yes, even on opened supplements (as long as you've used 7 servings or fewer). Closed food items over $20 are also returnable. Damaged or wrong items are always replaced free — email info@topnutritionandfitness.com with a photo within 48 hours of delivery. Refunds are issued as store credit (gift card good online or in-store).
